Designing devices to help clients with disabilities
Designing assistive technologies for people with disabilities.
Anna Young and Nik Albarran, of the Little Devices Lab, are part of the team teaching 6.811 - Principles and Practices of Assistive Technology, or PPAT. Students are partnered with people with disabilities and challenged to design and create assistive technologies.
“The overarching goal of this class is to allow somebody to do something in a way that makes them feel powerful or useful or just have fun,” she (Julie Greenberg, lecturer for PPAT) says. “I just felt like that message was important.”
